Dear parents, dear students, dear friends,

We are pleased to inform you that our school International School of Music and Fine Arts Prague has established a close partnership with the prestigious orchestra of the PKF – Prague Philharmonia (www.pkf.cz). This partnership will bring many new opportunities, cultural experiences and education for both our students and parents. For this school year we are not only offering ISMFA students the possibility to appear with this renowned Czech orchestra, which regularly gives concerts across the world, but we will also provide them with interesting events from the world of classical music as part of the PKF – Prague Philharmonia's concert season in Prague's Rudolfinum.

The PKF – Prague Philharmonia was founded in 1994 on the initiative of the conductor Jiří Bělohlávek (1946–2017) under the original name Prague Chamber Philharmonia. It is a frequent partner of renowned conductors and soloists, including Jefim Bronfman, András Schiff, Anna Netrebko, Diana Damrau, Angela Gheorghiu, Rolando Villazón, Plácido Domingo, Elina Garanča, Juan Diego Flórez, and others. The orchestra is regularly invited to international music festivals and gives concerts at top world venues (BBC Proms, MITO Settembre Musica, Prague Spring, Festspielhaus Baden Baden, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Gasteig Munich, Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman, Tokyo, Paris, San Francisco etc.). Over the period of its existence, the orchestra has recorded over 80 CDs released by leading Czech and world music publishers, such as Deutsche Grammophon, Decca, Supraphon, EMI, Warner Classics and Harmonia Mundi.

ISMFA students will have the chance to buy tickets for 100 CZK for all of the concerts during the PKF – Prague Philharmonia's season at the Dvořák Hall in the Rudolfinum, free entry to selected dress rehearsals and other alternative programmes, including meeting the musicians. There are also benefits for Family Entry. On 28 April 2018, selected ISMFA students will have the chance to appear with the PKF – Prague Philharmonia at a special concert in the Bohuslav Martinů Hall of the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Prague.

We hope that you will be just as enthusiastic about this new partnership and use the opportunities it provides for your children to the full. We will keep you informed about the latest events.

Yours faithfully,
Andrea Vlachová (ISMFA)
Iva Nevoralová (Prague Philharmonia)
