ABRSM Programme (British Curriculum)

The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music is an international study programme which is concluded by internationally acknowledged exams. It is not only a great motivation for students to practice, but most international primary and secondary schools require this Certificate from those students who would like to join their school orchestras. The ABRSM system is common in most European countries.

Students will receive an internationally acknowledged certificate issued by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. The practical instrumental exam takes place in the Czech Republic in the end of May beginning of April. The musical theory exam is given three times a year.

The application process in 2012

1. The application must be submitted by one of the parents of the student applying for the ABRSM Exam, either by applying HERE, or by e-mail, subject ABRSM. An application submitted by phone or by a teacher will not be accepted.

   Upon receiving your Application Form, the ISMFA will respond with all of the details concerning the exam and payment. Please note that any application forms and payments received after the last date of entry will not be accepted.

2. ABRSM Exams in 2012

   	18th June 2012	April 15, 2012

3. Extended Programme required by the ISMFA (2x45min a week). Since the exam includes an extended musical theory section and listening analysis we recommend a program of 2x60min a week. Please note that the preparation for this exam usually takes several months.
4. Candidates for Practical Grades 6, 7 and 8 must have passed the Associated Board Theory Grade 5.
